About Dr. Sathish Kandasamy
Dr. Sathish Kandasamy is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist with over seven years of focused experience in therapeutic neurointerventions and peripheral vascular procedures. He has developed strong expertise in diagnosing and treating complex neurovascular conditions such as acute stroke, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVM), dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVF), and carotid artery stenosis.
Before joining Zulekha Hospital, he worked at Royalcare Super Speciality Hospital and GKNM Hospital in India, and served as Senior Registrar in Radiology at both JIPMER, Puducherry, and SCTIMST, Trivandrum, two nationally prominent centres for neurological and cardiovascular sciences. These postings exposed him to a high caseload of complex neurointerventional cases under experienced guidance.
He completed his DM in Neuroradiology at SCTIMST and his MD Radiology at JIPMER, both highly competitive programs. As a neurointervention specialist in Dubai, Dr. Sathish brings technical precision to catheter-based procedures and a strong publication record covering stroke, aneurysm treatment, and spinal vascular malformations.

FAQs
Neurointervention is a subspecialty of radiology using minimally invasive, catheter-based techniques to treat vascular conditions of the brain and spine, including strokes, aneurysms, and arteriovenous malformations.
It is a procedure to remove a blood clot from a blocked brain artery, used in the acute treatment of ischaemic stroke. Dr. Sathish is experienced in this and related stroke interventions.
Yes. Dr. Sathish performs endovascular aneurysm coiling using balloon-assisted, stent-assisted, and flow diverter techniques, avoiding open craniotomy in suitable patients.
He performs angioplasty, stenting, tumor and uterine artery embolization, TACE for liver tumors, varicose vein treatment, and management of acute limb ischaemia, among others.
He consults in English, Tamil, and Malayalam.
